Opening Party of Estonian Music Week - This Year's First Christmas Party in Toronto!

As all vigilant newspaper readers and loyal social media followers already know, this November we'll have our second Estonian Music Week. The opening takes place in the evening of November 14th at Archeo in the Distillery District. You'll find the restaurant on your left after entering the Distillery District from the North Gate.

The Distillery District is popular both among locals and tourists and the place gets especially busy during Christmas time. Mid-November happens to be the time when the Distillery District officially launches it's Christmas events. Thus, the opening of the Estonian Music Week serves also as an opportunity to kick off your Christmas Season!

What do we offer at Archeo? The ticket includes a three course dinner and cultural program. The menu is inspired by Italian cuisine and includes a soup (new potato & leek chowder), a choice of 3 main courses, incl. also vegetarian option (roasted arctic char with romesco sauce and manilla clams; organic chicken breast stuffed with chèvre, smoked tomato, roasted garlic & mushrooms, natural jus; Thai coconut vegetable curry) as well as the dessert buffet with coffee and tea. Cash bar. Vegetarian meals need to be booked by Oct. 31 at vemu@tartucollege.ca or by phone 416 925 9405.

The cultural program will also be appetizing and lift up your spirits! We'll hear the Augie Riik jazzband, which is already familiar from last year's EMW Koerner Hall reception. The evening’s DJ will be Vaiko Eplik from Estonia, who will play old exile Estonian pop music, adding some Christmas flavour. We'll also hear Vaiko Eplik at the EMW Wrap-Up Party in Tartu College on Sunday, October 17th, where he'll perform his own songs on acoustic guitar.

As Thursday, November 14th is also the opening day of the Latitude44 Tech Conference, you'll definitely meet some interesting conference participants from Estonia and Canada at Archeo.

Come and get into the EMW and Christmas spirit with us in Archeo on the evening of November 14th! Tickets for Archeo and to all other EMW events are available online, at Tartu College Office and the Estonian Credit Union. The price for Archeo ticket is $90, for youth 18-30 yrs with ID $70. It is also possible to book a table for eight people online or by writing at vemu@tartucollege.ca or calling 416 925 9405. Doors open 6.30pm, event starts 7pm.

The tickets for Latitude 44 are available online (https://www.latitude44to.ca/).
